Cloee-Anna Merritt

Associate Attorney

Attorney at Law | Family Law · Mediation · Estate Planning · Contract Law

Cloee-Anna Merritt is a dedicated family law attorney and mediator whose passion for advocacy is grounded in discipline, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Known for her ability to balance empathy with precision, she guides clients through complex legal challenges with clarity, confidence, and care.

A proud Johnson City, Tennessee native, Cloee-Anna began her academic and athletic career at Daytona State College, earning her Associate of Science degree with honors while playing collegiate softball. She continued her academic and athletic journey at Milligan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a Pre-Medical Concentration and a Minor in Psychology, graduating with honors. Her outstanding leadership and athletic achievements led to multiple Hall of Fame inductions, recognizing her excellence both on and off the field.

Cloee-Anna earned her Juris Doctor from Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law and her Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Lincoln Memorial University, completing both with distinction. During law school, she served as Vice President of the Federalist Society, where her chapter earned a national award for excellence. She also completed a Congressional internship with the U.S. House of Representatives, gaining invaluable insight into the federal legislative process, and later served as a Judicial Law Clerk for a Tennessee Circuit Court Judge in Knoxville, where she refined her legal research, writing, and courtroom analysis skills.

As a Tennessee Rule 31-certified mediator, Cloee-Anna provides professional mediation services, helping families resolve disputes through respectful, solution-oriented dialogue. Her practice areas include family law, mediation, and estate planning, and she is expanding her work into contract law, focusing on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements for collegiate athletes — a natural fit given her own athletic background.

Clients value Cloee-Anna’s approachable nature, attention to detail, and ability to navigate emotional and legal complexities with both compassion and precision. Whether representing a client in divorce or custody matters, guiding families through estate planning, or crafting contracts that protect athletes’ futures, her goal remains constant: to advocate with integrity, understanding, and results.

Outside of her legal practice, Cloee-Anna enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Zackary, her family, and their two cats, Nicco and Mae Mae. She continues to give back to the athletic community through private pitching and hitting lessons, mentoring young athletes, and helping girls achieve their dreams of playing college softball. Her passion for empowering others — both in law and athletics — reflects her lifelong belief in hard work, faith, and perseverance.

Cloee-Anna often draws inspiration from her favorite quote by Erma Bombeck:

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, ‘I used everything You gave me.’”

That belief guides her personally and professionally — to serve her clients, her community, and her purpose with everything she has.

If you are seeking an attorney who combines genuine compassion with skilled advocacy, Cloee-Anna Merritt is ready to help you navigate your legal journey with confidence and care.
